UML General Convention: Final List of Candidates Published

Kathmandu — The final list of nominations has been made public for candidates seeking leadership positions at the 11th National General Convention of the Communist Party of Nepal Unified Marxist Leninist.

According to the final list released by the party’s Central Election Commission, current Chair KP Sharma Oli and current Senior Vice-Chair Ishwor Pokharel will compete for the position of chairperson.

The election process is currently underway at Bhrikutimandap.

For the five vice-chairperson positions, 11 candidates have filed nominations.

For general secretary, the nominations of Shankar Pokharel and Surendra Pandey have been registered.

For the three deputy general secretary positions, seven people have filed nominations.

For the nine secretary posts, 20 candidates have been registered.

The election commission is preparing to conduct voting from 4:00 PM this afternoon.

There are 2,262 delegates attending the general convention.
