Kathmandu — A Gen Z group staged a protest outside Singha Durbar, saying they couldn’t meet Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

A contingent of young people gathered at the right gate of Singha Durbar to demonstrate. When they tried to enter Singha Durbar to deliver a memorandum to Karki, the police stopped them.

After being denied entry, there was a minor scuffle between the youths — including Miraj Dhungana — and the police. They chanted slogans such as “Death to the NGO-government,” “Resign, Home Minister,” “Punish the murderers,” “Gen Z’s backing is being misused,” and “We despise this government.”

The police pushed the crowd of youths gathered at Singha Durbar’s gate toward Hanumansthan. Yet, no one has been arrested, said SP Bhawankumar Bhattarai, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Police Office.

“We are still trying to appease them. No one has been arrested so far,” he said.

On Monday, too, the group — including Dhungana — had gone to Singha Durbar to submit a memorandum to PM Karki, but the police stopped them. Afterwards, they stuck their memorandum on the gate and left.
