Kathmandu — The Nepali Congress’s Central Working Committee meeting has been postponed again. According to General Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel, the session that was scheduled for today (Thursday) has been rescheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. at the party’s central office.

Earlier, a statement on 30 Kartik announced that the meeting called for 1 Mangsir was postponed to today. In the meeting, there has been ongoing debate over whether to hold a special general convention or a regular general convention.

Although signatures in favor of a special convention have already been collected, the party establishment faction insists that a regular convention should only happen after the elections.

At the meeting that began on 28 Asoj, party leaders had already expressed their views by 27 Kartik. Subsequent meetings scheduled for 29 Kartik and 1 Mangsir were postponed, and the session was shifted to 4 Mangsir — and now again to Saturday.

Important decisions are expected from this ongoing meeting, including on the party’s 15th General Convention and the upcoming House of Representatives election.
