In Kathmandu — An agreement has been reached to keep the name of the energy minister Kulman Ghis ing’s party as “Ujyalo Nepal”.

Earlier there had been discussion about changing the party’s name to “Jan Seva Party”, but in the meeting held Sunday evening a leader said that consensus was reached to retain the name Ujyalo Nepal.

It has also been agreed that Ghis ing will not take the leadership of the party himself. Preparations are underway for registering the party at the Election Commission today (Monday) under the leadership of former-secretary Anup Kumar Upadhyay.

“We had discussed whether to change the party’s name or not. But in yesterday’s (Sunday) evening meeting consensus was reached to keep it as Ujyalo Nepal. Possibly today we will go to the Election Commission to register the party,” said the leader.

According to him, there is also full agreement to use the election symbol of a “light-bulb” (chim) representing electricity.
