Kathmandu – Senior leader Nawaraj Subedi, who was removed from the party’s disciplinary committee by Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), filed a complaint with the Election Commission.

On July 10, Chairman Rajendra Lingden concluded that Subedi was no longer a party member and removed him as chair of the disciplinary committee, appointing Roshan Karki in his place.

In opposition to this decision, Subedi, along with former party chairman Prakash Chandra Lohani and General Secretaries Dhawal Shamsher Jabara and Kunti Shahi, went to the Election Commission on Sunday and lodged a formal complaint.

Speaking to the press after submitting the complaint, Subedi said he had taken the step because he was removed by the chairman’s arbitrariness, without any decision by the party’s central committee.

He accused Chairman Lingden of acting contrary to natural justice. Repeating that he voiced concerns against injustice within the party and filed the complaint with the Commission to ensure a fair process, he said he would offer further comments later.

He stated: “It was the chairman’s whim that removed me from the disciplinary committee. There has been no decision from the central committee. Therefore, they acted against natural justice. They should have consulted me before making a decision. I learned of this only through the media. That is why I came to the Commission. I am protesting the injustice happening within the party. You will see what I do once justice is delivered. I came to file this complaint to prevent conspiracy within the party.”

He also claimed that their movement for the restoration of the monarchy is ongoing. He emphasized that he stands for a party free of factionalism.
