India vs England second test first day: Gill’s century helps India reach 310 runs

Birmingham – The second match of the ongoing five-game Test series between India and England has begun at Birmingham. After losing the toss, India chose to bat first and ended the first day of the second Test at 310 for five wickets, with an unbeaten stand.

Captain Shubman Gill led India’s batting with a superb century, remaining not out at 114 runs. Ravindra Jadeja provided solid support, remaining undefeated on 41 runs, and the duo has put together an unbroken 99-run partnership for the sixth wicket.

In India’s innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal played a solid knock, scoring 87 runs, while Karun Nair contributed 31 runs. Rishabh Pant was dismissed after making 25 runs. For England, Chris Woakes claimed two wickets, while Brendon Kayers, Ben Stokes, and Suyeb Bashir each took one wicket.

England leads the series 1-0, having secured victory in the first Test match.
