Kathmandu – The Patan High Court has issued an interim order not to arrest journalist Dilbhusan Pathak.

The police had issued an arrest warrant against Pathak under cybercrime charges after he produced and uploaded content on YouTube regarding Sher Bahadur Deuba’s son, Jaiveer Deuba.

Earlier, seeking to stop the arrest warrant, Pathak had approached the Patan High Court, where a bench of Judge Rishi Raj Bhandari issued a short-term interim order instructing that he should not be arrested except in accordance with the law.

On Thursday, after a hearing on the interim order, a division bench of Judges Tank Prasad Gurung and Tikaram Acharya decided to continue the short term. The order stated that there is no situation that necessitates arresting him for investigation.

The court’s order mentioned, “As it has not been established that the applicant needs to be arrested and investigated based on the complaint filed regarding the content disseminated by the applicant, the previously issued short-term interim order dated 2082/03/02 (June 16, 2025) is hereby continued as per Rule 42 of the High Court Regulations, 2073, until the final verdict of the case.”
