Traffic Cops Removed from Duty After Beating Motorcyclist in Viral Video

The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office has stated that an investigation is underway into the traffic police involved in assaulting a motorcycle rider.

A video of traffic police kicking and severely beating a person has gone viral on social media.

In the context of the same video, the office issued a press release on Thursday, informing that the traffic police involved in the incident have been removed from their responsibilities and an investigation is being conducted.

The office has also stated that the incident occurred on November 8, 2024 (2081 Mangsir 23 according to the Nepali calendar) below the Sundhara sky bridge.

‘According to the initial investigation, the incident occurred on November 8, 2024, below the Sundhara sky bridge, and the four traffic police officers seen involved in the act have been removed from the responsibility of the Traffic Police Circle, Janasewa, and summoned to this Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office for necessary investigation,’ the office said.
