Won’t let screening of Aadipurush, come what may: Balen Shah

Kathmandu, 22 June: Balendra Shah ‘Balen’, Mayor of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has vowed not to allow screening of controversial Aadipurush film in the Metropolitan area despite the Patan High court’s interim order.

Mayor Shah stated his position today after a single bench of Patan High court ‘s interim order not to ban Aadipurush and other Indian films.

The high court interim order follows a petition filed by film hall operators challenging Mayor Shah’s decision to ban them.

‘Where the issue belongs to sovereignty and independence, I am not going to obey any laws and court, Shah tweeted. He said Indian intention is clearly understandable as wants to send across a message that Nepal was under the control of India.

He has further mentioned that screening the film will not be allowed and he is ready to subject himself to any punishment.
