Western Nepal Braces for Rain and High-Altitude Snowfall This Weekend

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, rain is expected across Nepal starting Friday, Magh 9.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division has informed that from Friday night through Saturday evening, light to moderate rain is likely in many parts of the country’s western region—specifically Sudurpashchim, Karnali, and Lumbini provinces.

Speaking with News Agency Nepal, Senior Meteorologist Barun Paudel stated that moderate snowfall is also expected in the high Himalayan regions alongside the rain. He clarified that the rainfall will be moderate in nature and is expected to last only until Saturday evening.

According to the Division, there is a possibility of light rain again starting Tuesday night, Magh 13. Senior Meteorologist Paudel added that light rain and moderate snowfall in the high mountains are expected from Tuesday night through Wednesday.
