Westerly winds cause cloudy weather and rain in several Nepal provinces

Currently, Nepal is experiencing the influence of westerly winds, local winds, and a low-pressure area near its eastern region.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there is generally cloudy weather in the Himalayan and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in the Himalayan areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The hilly and Himalayan regions of Madhesh and Lumbini provinces are partially cloudy, while the Terai regions remain mostly clear, as reported by the division.

Some areas in Koshi and Gandaki provinces are experiencing moderate rain with thunder and lightning, and light rain is occurring in one or two places in Bagmati Province.

This afternoon, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces are expected to have generally cloudy weather. The hilly and Himalayan regions of Madhesh and other provinces will be partially cloudy, while the Terai regions will remain mostly clear.

The division forecasts a possibility of moderate rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Madhesh, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. There is also a possibility of hot days in the hilly areas and heatwaves in the Terai regions of Sudurpaschim and Lumbini provinces.

Tonight, generally cloudy weather is expected in the Himalayan regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. The hilly regions of other provinces will be partially cloudy, while the Terai regions will remain mostly clear.

According to the division, there is a possibility of moderate rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in a few places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Madhesh, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
