Westerly winds cause cloudiness in Nepal’s hilly and mountainous regions

Kathmandu – Currently, Nepal is experiencing the influence of westerly winds and local winds. Due to this, the hilly and mountainous regions of the country are generally cloudy, while the weather in the remaining Terai regions is mostly clear, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division.

According to the division, this afternoon, the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as Lumbini and Karnali provinces, will generally be cloudy. The hilly and mountainous regions of the remaining provinces will experience partial cloudiness, while the Terai regions will remain mostly clear.

There is a possibility of moderate rainfall and snowfall in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in some parts of the hilly and mountainous regions of Madhes and other provinces. The Terai regions of Sudurpaschim and Lumbini provinces are likely to experience warm days, the division stated.

Similarly, tonight, Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will generally be cloudy, with partial cloudiness in the remaining hilly and mountainous regions. The weather in the remaining Terai regions will be mostly clear. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning in a few places in Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, according to the division.
