Westerly low-pressure system causes rain and clouds across Nepal provinces

Currently, Nepal is experiencing the influence of a westerly low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere, along with local and easterly winds. The Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, are generally cloudy, while other areas have partial cloud cover. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, light to moderate rainfall is occurring in some areas of Koshi Province and one or two places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

This afternoon, the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province and other parts of the country will generally remain cloudy, while the rest of the Terai region will have partial cloud cover. The division reports that there is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in one or two places in the remaining hilly and Terai regions.

Tonight, the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will generally remain cloudy. In Madhesh Province and other hilly and mountainous areas, there will be partial cloud cover, while the Terai region will mainly remain clear, according to the division.

There is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall with thunder and lightning in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in one or two places in the remaining hilly and mountainous areas. Additionally, heavy rainfall is possible in one or two places in Koshi Province.
