In Chitwan, 50 inmates at the local prison have been affected by a viral fever. According to the chief of the district prison, Rabindra Dhungana, this issue has been observed in 50 inmates so far.

He stated, “Every day, five to seven people are suffering from the viral fever. The problem is increasing daily.”

Currently, the prison houses 712 inmates, although its capacity is 600. While it is designed to accommodate 50 women and 550 men, it is holding more prisoners than its capacity allows.

Those affected by the viral fever are being treated in separate rooms. The chief, Dhungana, mentioned that medicine management is being carried out with the assistance of the District Public Health Office and Bharatpur Metropolitan City.
