Two Arrested Following Reported Sexual Assault of 12-Year-Old Girl in Kanchanpur

Dhangadi — Authorities in Kanchanpur have launched an investigation following reports of the gang rape of a 12-year-old girl.

Police have arrested two men in connection with the assault. According to the Kanchanpur District Police Office, the suspects—identified as Naresh Giri, 47, of Bhimdatta Municipality-10, and Hira Nath, 40, of Bhimdatta Municipality-9—were taken into custody on Wednesday.

The arrests followed a formal complaint alleging that the suspects forcibly took the minor into the Baijanath Community Forest in Bhimdatta Municipality-10, where the assault occurred.

The District Police Office confirmed that both individuals were apprehended based on the initial report and that a further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
