Traffic violations generate Rs 2.7 million in penalties in 24 hours

In the past 24 hours, revenue amounting to Rs 2,736,501 has been deposited into the state treasury.

This revenue was collected as penalties from 2,093 drivers who violated traffic rules.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, action was taken against 92 individuals for driving under the influence, 169 for illegal ride-sharing, 141 for ignoring traffic signals, and 101 for speeding.

Additionally, 82 drivers were penalized for not following lane discipline, 92 for honking in prohibited areas, 105 for parking on sidewalks, 129 for driving on one-way streets, and 1,982 for various other traffic violations, totaling 2,093 individuals who faced penalties.
