Tipper Truck Crash in Kavrepalanchok: Driver Found Burned to Death

Kavrepalanchok – In an accident involving a tipper truck at the Kodari cliff in Ward 6 of Mandandeupur Municipality, Kavrepalanchok, 28-year-old driver Kishim Rai has died.

On Wednesday morning, the truck bearing registration number Ba 5 kha 4072 fell some 60 metres down the road from the Helambu highway and caught fire.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Raveen Bisht, spokesperson of the District Police Office, Kavrepalanchok, Rai, resident of Ward 7, Jhagarpur, was found in the truck’s steering area in a burned condition.

The co-driver, 22-year-old Vikram Rai of the same ward, is seriously injured. Bisht said the injured Vikram Rai has multiple burn injuries on various parts of his body and has been taken to Burn Hospital in Kirtipur for further treatment.

An investigation into the accident and subsequent fire is ongoing.
