Kathmandu – Dr. Swarnim Waglé has been elected unopposed as the Vice President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP).

Waglé was unanimously chosen after Biraj Bhakta Shrestha, who had filed his candidacy for one of the Vice President positions reserved for men, withdrew his claim.

By stepping down and proposing Waglé himself, Shrestha has sent a message of unity in the selection of new leadership. Previously, Ravi Lamichhane had also been elected unopposed as the party’s President under the central leadership.

According to the revised statute of the RSP, the party structure includes one President, two Vice Presidents, one General Secretary, and three Deputy General Secretaries. While the positions filled unopposed have been settled, the election process will proceed for other office bearers and central committee members.
