Supreme Court orders release of CPN-UML leader Rajkumar Gupta on bail

Kathmandu – The Supreme Court has ordered the release of CPN-UML leader and former minister Rajkumar Gupta on a bail of 5 million rupees.

The joint bench of Justices Sharanga Subedi and Sunil Kumar Pokharel issued the order to release former minister Gupta.

The Supreme Court has instructed that Gupta be released on a bail of 5 million rupees or an equivalent bank guarantee or property bond for the trial process.

Overturning the Special Court’s decision to detain Gupta for trial, the Supreme Court has ordered his release on bail.

Former Minister of General Administration Gupta was ordered to be detained by the Special Court on Poush 17, 2082. Following that order, he was held in Dilli Bazaar prison.
