Kathmandu – The Supreme Court has ordered the release of businessman Shekhar Golchha on bail or bond.

The order came during a hearing on a habeas corpus petition filed by Golchha’s wife, Seema Golchha. The court instructed that he should be released on bail or bond, and only be detained if that is not possible.

The bench of Justices Mahesh Sharma Paudel and Shrikant Paudel annulled the process through which the investigating authorities had obtained permission to keep him in custody, stating that he could be released on bail or bond.

Golchha was arrested on 11 Baisakh. The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police detained him for further investigation based on a report by the Nepal Securities Board.
