Kathmandu – Former Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati has joined the Labour Culture Party led by Harka Sampang.

After extensive discussions and political negotiations, Kirati decided to unite his group with the Labour Culture Party.

Previously active in the Progressive Democratic Party, Kirati had recently left that party.

According to the agreement between the two sides, Sudan Kirati will be given the responsibility of senior leader in the Labour Culture Party.

In the unification process, it is understood that Kirati’s team will include one vice-chairperson, one secretary, and 15 central members. The final discussion, which concluded this political arrangement, took place on Thursday night in Lalitpur.

Kirati, who was previously with the Maoist Centre, has been active in various groups amid party splits and new alignments.

In the last election, he had informally supported candidates from the Labour Culture Party, leading to speculation about his eventual entry into the party.

The formal announcement of the party unification is set to take place today at a special press conference at Hardik Hotel in Bagbazar, Kathmandu.

The party, led by Dharan Mayor Harka Sampang, has been focusing on ‘Labour Culture’ as its main agenda.
