Sixty-three heritages in Pashupati area reconstructed

The reconstruction of the heritages damaged by earthquake in 2015 within the Pasupati Area World Heritage Site is underway.

Out of 90 structures damaged, 63 heritages have been restored while the rebuilding of another 11 is taking place, according to Dr Milan Kumar Thapa, Member Secretary of the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT).

However, reconstruction works for 16 heritages are awaited as the source of budget has not been ensured yet. The budget constraint is also hampering the pace to reconstruct Bishwarup Temple.

The heritages that are rebuilt include Jayabageshwori Temple, Jeet Jagat Prakasheshwor Temple, Gaurighat Chaughera Sattal, Shiva shrines in the Mrigasthali area, Shankaracharya Temple and others.

The inauguration of Jaya Bageshwori Temple is scheduled on 3rd February, 2022, said PADT.
