Six arrested following 80-100 kg gold seizure at TIA

The Department of Revenue Investigation has seized a huge quantity of gold from the Tribhuvan International Airport area that had passed undetected through the customs yesterday evening.

Six people including an agent have been arrested in connection with the case while the search for absconding is underway.

According to the Department, around 80-100 kilogrammes of yellow metal was confiscated in course of conducting raids following special information.

It is said that the gold was brought from Hong Kong.

Other details of the incident are yet to unfold since further investigation is ongoing.
