‘Silent period’ to begin

The ‘silence period’ for the November 20 election will begin from midnight (12:00) today.

The election code of conduct prohibits all the campaigns, gatherings and interaction concerning the publicity prior to 48 hours of voting day till the polls are closed.

According to the election code of conduct, also the publicity materials kept around 300 meters of polling station are to be removed. The voting on November 20 for the House of Representative and Province Assembly is taking place from 7 am to 5 pm. The EC calls not to conduct any such actions. EC has also warned of taking action against violation of silent period.
