American security officials have reported that no one was injured in a shooting incident at the ‘Annual Correspondents’ Dinner’ organized by the White House.

Following a security threat at the event attended by Trump, American President Trump and other top American leaders were moved to a safe location. Initial reports indicate that President Trump was not injured, and there is no immediate confirmation of any serious human casualties.

After the incident, Trump held a press conference from the White House. Following Saturday’s security incident, the American President stated that despite being in a dangerous position, he has not been mentally weakened by fear. Responding to questions from journalists, he said, “I don’t want to think too much about it. Life is risky in such a position, but despite that, I try to live as normal a life as possible. I’m not scared.”

He added, “Many people seem to be completely frightened and unstable after such incidents. But I’m not that extremely scared ‘basket case’ person. I accept the situation as it is. I’m doing this job for the country, not for any other reason.” Trump praised his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, for showing “excellent support and courage.”

He said, “Melania has often told me, ‘Your job is very dangerous.’ But that danger is also connected to her. This situation is risky for her as well.” Recalling the moment of the incident, Trump said, “We were sitting there. Suddenly, there was a loud noise. It was hard to distinguish whether it was the sound of a tray falling or a gunshot. I was hoping it was the sound of a tray falling, but it wasn’t.”

He praised the courage shown by the security personnel during the incident, saying, “Some extremely brave people did an excellent job there. We are proud of them and satisfied with their work.” According to officials, the incident occurred outside the banquet hall where Trump and other guests were present. The event was then canceled and is set to be rescheduled. White House Correspondents’ Association President Weijia Jiang announced that the event would be held again. Immediately afterward, staff began dismantling the decorations and the podium where the President was to speak.

After the incident, a large number of American Secret Service and other security agencies arrived at the Hilton Hotel in Washington. Hundreds of guests inside the hall hid under tables in fear. According to eyewitnesses, panic spread throughout the hall suddenly. Some people shouted “Get down!” while others chanted “God bless America” as Trump was being escorted off the stage. Trump stumbled briefly while leaving the stage, possibly due to a trip, and was later assisted by Secret Service agents.

According to a security official, it has been confirmed that a gunman fired shots during the incident. Although a bullet hit a security officer’s bulletproof vest, they remained unharmed. Some individuals at the scene reported hearing between five to eight rounds of gunfire. Subsequently, the banquet hall, which was filled with hundreds of journalists, celebrities, and national leaders, was immediately evacuated.

Members of the National Guard formed a security perimeter inside the building. While people were allowed to exit, re-entry was not immediately permitted. Security outside the hotel was also tightened significantly. The event was attended by American Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and many other high-ranking officials from the Trump administration.

A large number of National Guard and other security agencies were deployed outside the hotel, with helicopters patrolling overhead continuously. American attorney Jeanine Pirro, in a video released after the incident, said, “After hearing gunshots, I was escorted out of the hall. The Secret Service is now in charge of the security of this building and hotel.” She also mentioned that Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Police Chief Jeffrey Carroll were heading to the scene.

This incident occurred just as the event was about to begin. President Trump had attended this event for the first time while in office. The event included journalists, politicians, famous artists, and other guests. Previously, former President Barack Obama had mocked Trump at this same event in 2011, where Trump was in the audience. This year’s event featured mentalist artist Oz Pearlman as a special presenter instead of a comedian.
