Security personnel’s free visits to politicians and diplomats curtailed

Kathmandu: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MoFA) has instructed security personnel to meet or interact with politicians and foreign dignitaries beyond specified duties only after due permission from the department concerned.

A statement issued Thursday by MoFA’s spokesperson said that the security personnel should go for such meetings only after due permission and should restrict such meetings to the specified agenda.

The statement comes in the wake of reports that security officials freely meet diplomats without securing any clearance from the concerned department. The statement has, furthermore, requested the chief of concerned organization to maintain the effective implementation and evaluation on the departmental approval.

The statement also says that any violation to this instruction should be treated as an act of indiscipline and the necessary actions will be taken against them. The full version of notice is as below:
