SC orders for affiliation to Durga Prasai’s B&C Medical College

Kathmandu, 25 March: The Supreme Court (SC) on Monday has issued an order to the authorities for granting affiliation to B&C Medical College, Teaching Hospital and Research Center belonging to entrepreneur Durga Prasai.

A joint bench comprising justices Kumar Chudal and Saranga Subedi has provided the verdict in this regard.

Prasai had twice – on 16 October 2020 and 5 July 2020- filed writ petitions against Kathmandu University and Medical Education Commission seeking an order to grant affiliation to his college.

He had argued that the affiliation was denied despite completing the Hospital’s infrastructure following Letter of Intent (LOI) provided by the government.
