Sargam’s Silent Rebellion Resonates Across Europe: Color of Tea Triumphs in Greece

 Festival organizers officially published the list of award-winning films on their website, stating that the second festival award has been conferred upon the international short film Color of Tea, written and directed by Raj Sargam (Nepal).

The 12th International Documentary Festival of Ierapetra & Awards in Greece promotes top documentaries and short films from around the world in its competitive section.

Color of Tea tells the story of Dalit indigenous people in the Madhesh region who engage in a silent rebellion against subtle aggressions and violence perpetuating ethnic discrimination.

Earlier this film by writer and journalist Raj won the “Excellence Award” at the Korea Gyeonggi International Film Festival for SDGs in July, held in South Korea for Sustainable Development Goals 2025.

Furthermore, it was shortlisted for the upcoming Aceh Film Festival (AFF) in Indonesia in September.

Likewise, Color of Tea reached the quarter-finals at The Kobani International Film Festival in Germany, scheduled for the coming September. It was also officially selected at the “MOD Fests: Minority Open Day 2025” held in Podgorica, Montenegro in Europe.
