Rasuwa police arrest man with $43,000 in foreign currency

Rasuwa police have arrested an individual with a large amount of foreign currency. The arrested person is Sushil Gurung, a 37-year-old resident of Ganga Jamuna Rural Municipality-5 in Dhading district.

According to the police, Gurung was detained in the Betrawati area of Rasuwa during a security check while he was guiding Indian pilgrims on a trip to Mansarovar Kailash.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Ashok Thapa, chief of the District Police Office Rasuwa, stated that a total of 43,000 American dollars in denominations ranging from one to 100 were seized from Gurung, who had concealed them illegally.

Police reported that Gurung was traveling with 30 Indian pilgrims to Mansarovar. During this journey, suspicious activities led to a search, which uncovered the large amount of foreign currency.

Raju Shah, the information officer at the District Police Office Rasuwa, informed that further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
