The road connecting Ramtola village, which had been overlooked in terms of development, has now been blacktopped. This is the first time the road leading to Ramtola village, located in Baglung Municipality where the district headquarters is situated, has been paved.

Due to challenging geography, this village had lagged behind, and the road was opened in 2072 BS. It has now been blacktopped 11 years after the road was initially opened.

The road stretches approximately five kilometers from Bhakunde Dotetal in Baglung Municipality-10 to Ramtola. This year, one kilometer has been blacktopped as part of the upgrade, according to Gyanendra Gautam, the chairperson of Baglung Municipality-11.

Gautam mentioned that the first phase of blacktopping was done in areas that were extremely narrow and difficult. He stated, “Even though it is located in the district headquarters, Raydanda and Ramtola village have been neglected for a long time. This year, we have initiated the road connecting Ramtola village with investment from the federal government. We will continue the work every year until the blacktopped road reaches the village.”

The federal government allocated Rs. 29.5 million for the blacktopping of this road. The work was carried out through the Road Division Office. Engineer Bishnu Lamichhane, the information officer at the Road Division Office, informed that Hillside/PK JV was awarded the contract to complete the work by Jestha 25, 2082 BS.

The work involved widening one kilometer of the road, constructing drains, installing gabions, and blacktopping. Engineer Lamichhane noted that due to the lack of upgrades since the track was opened, the short stretch of road required significant investment to be blacktopped.
