Proportional representation vote counting begins

Kathmandu — Proportional representation vote counting has also begun under the House of Representatives election. Election Commission information officer Suman Ghimire said that counting for the proportional category has started in Kathmandu‑1 constituency.

So far, 19,728 proportional votes have been counted, with the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) receiving 11,562 votes.

The Nepali Congress has secured 3,664 votes, the Rastriya Prajatantra Party 1,752, and the CPN‑UML 1,152 in the proportional count.

Other parties include the Shram Sanskriti Party with 441 votes, the Nepali Communist Party with 392, and the Rastriya Pariwartan Party with 273 votes, while various smaller parties have received fewer than 100 votes each.
