Prez Poudel offers Puja at Janaki Mandir (Pictures)

President Ram Chandara Poudel and first lady Sabita Poudel offered special Pooja at Jakaki Temple in Janakpurdham in the morning today.

The main priest of the Janaki Temple, Ram Tapeshwar Das welcomed them at the temple.

He lit the ‘Akhanda Deep’ or the eternal lamp as well as paid homage to the parental home of Sita Mata, the Akhanda Kirtan or the nonstop singing of hymns.

Chief Minister of Madesh Province, Sarij Kumar Yadav, Ministers from the Province government together with House of Representatives members Bimalendra Nidhi and Julikumari Mahaseth accompanied the President couple.

The President is scheduled to inaugurate the Mahendra Narayan Nidhi Mithila Cultural Centre assembly hall in Janakpurdham this noon.

He will also receive a civic felicitation from the Janakpurdham Sub-metropolitan City at the assembly hall.
