President Paudel to Attend International Labour Conference and Engage in Bilateral Talks

Kathmandu – President Ramchandra Paudel is set to depart for Geneva, Switzerland, this evening, leading the Nepali delegation to participate in the 112th session of the International Labour Conference.

On the occasion, on the 31st of Jestha, he will address the opening session of the ‘Global Coalition for Social Justice’ as the keynote speaker, as announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During his visit, on the 30th of Jestha, he will hold a bilateral meeting with the President of the Swiss Confederation, Viola Amherd. It is noted that this is possibly the first bilateral meeting between the heads of state of Nepal and the Swiss Confederation. On the 1st of Asar, President Paudel will travel from Geneva to Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany, as informed by the Ministry’s spokesperson, Amrit Bahadur Rai.

President Paudel is making an official visit to Germany at the invitation of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. He will hold formal talks with the German President on the 3rd of Asar. President Paudel will be accompanied by his wife, Savita Paudel. Other members of the delegation include Dr. Suresh Chandra Chalise, Foreign Affairs Expert to the President; secretaries from the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Nepalese ambassadors to Switzerland and Germany; and senior officials from the Office of the President and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. President Paudel will complete his visit and return to Nepal on the 5th of Asar.
