President lauds contribution of NA in establishing world peace

President Bidya Devi Bhandari has lauded the contribution of Nepal Army in carrying out its constitutional responsibilities efficiently in the country and also contributing to world peace.

In a message today on the occasion of Army Day, she has mentioned that the NA is always ready to protect Nepal’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. It has also been playing an important role in the development and protection of the country and the people. The President also praised the role played by the army in the successful completion of the recently held three levels of elections in the country.

Also Supreme commander-in-chief of the Nepal Army, President Bhandari has extended her best wishes for happiness, peace and prosperity to all rank and file of the army working at home and abroad, and to the military families on the occasion of the NA establishment day.

In a similar congratulatory message on the occasion, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ expressed his gratitude for the sacrifice, dedication and support of the Nepal Army in the service of the country and the people. “The role and contribution of this organization established to protect the freedom, sovereignty, integrity and independence of the country remains praiseworthy since the unification of the country as of today,” he has said in the message. The Prime Minister has also praised the role of the national army in the field of development, environmental protection, disaster management, election security and sports sector, as well as for international peace.

Defense Minister Hari Prasad Upreti has said that the Nepali Army has been faithfully and honestly performing its duties since its inception to protect the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of Mahashivratri festival and the 260th anniversary of the establishment of the organization, the Nepal Army has expressed its best wishes to all those who contributed to the defense of the country’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and national unity.

Today, the Nepali Army is celebrating its foundation day with a variety of programs across the country. On the same occasion, a special event with Shivaratri Badhain is being held at Tundikhel in Kathmandu with the President as the Chief Guest.
