PM directs for immediate rescue of 19 Nepali workers from Malaysia

The government has initiated efforts to rescue 19 Nepali workers who were taken hostage in Malaysia in the course of foreign employment.

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) concerning the situation following media report that Nepali workers were being held hostage in Malaysia for the past eight days urged the rescue of workers.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has directed the concerned agencies to make all-out efforts to rescue the Nepali workers in a serious manner, according to PM’s press coordinator Surya Kiran Sharma.

Media reports had revealed that the agent had put the Nepali workers who reached Malaysia for employment, on hostage at a hotel in a local city. The workers had claimed that the company not only misbehaved them but were beaten up while raising voice for justice in the company.
