PM Dahal secured vote of confidence in the parliament

The government led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal has won the vote of confidence in the House of Representatives (HoR) Monday.

Among 262 lawmakers present, 172 backed PM Dahal’s confidence motion and 89 opposed it.

This is the second vote of confidence that PM Prachanda won in the Parliament in less than 3 months as required under article 100 (2) of the constitution.

This paves the way for Prachanda to form a new political coalition, including among others the Nepali Congress, and give full size to the cabinet.

He had hinted that he will expand the council of ministers on Thursday or after that.
