Kathmandu – The Patan High Court has ordered that certain scenes and dialogues in the film ‘Lalibazar’, which is based on the story of the Badi community, be muted before its screening.

The order was issued on Wednesday by a joint bench of judges Tankaprasad Gurung and Achyut Kuinkel while hearing a writ petition filed by Roshni Badi at the Patan High Court.

The bench directed that words such as ‘Badi’, ‘Prasad used by the king’, and ‘the king’s belongings’, mentioned in point number 2 of the decision by the Central Film Censorship Board, be muted.

Roshni Badi had filed the writ claiming that the film tarnished the dignity of the Badi community.

In response to the writ, the high court instructed that ‘Lalibazar’ be screened by cutting certain scenes and removing some dialogues.
