Parsa court grants bail to Birgunj Mayor Singh in forgery case

The District Court of Parsa has ordered the release of Birgunj Metropolitan City Mayor Rajeshman Singh on bail. A single bench of Judge Gayatriprasad Regmi on Tuesday ordered Mayor Singh’s release on a bail of four lakh rupees in a case related to forgery, according to court registrar Prabhakarkumar Mallik.

In a separate charge of submitting false information to obtain citizenship, the court ordered his release on a bail of 15,000 rupees.

Mayor Singh was arrested by the District Police Office, Parsa, on Tuesday and presented before the district court. Singh is accused of forging signatures to create a birth certificate, citizenship, and passport for another person’s daughter.
