Kathmandu – The upcoming edition of the musical program ‘Paleti’, held on the last Friday of every English month at Nepalaya’s ‘R’ sala, will feature the lyrical works of renowned songwriter Shivashankar Thapa.

This intimate musical event has been running continuously for 21 years. It will honor the musical journey of Thapa, a wordsmith who has been dedicated to literary pursuits in Birtamod, Jhapa for a long time.

The program will resonate with popular songs like ‘Bhanthi Meri Uni’ and ‘Ma Ta Akashko Jun Hun’, composed by singer and musician Deep Shrestha.

Additionally, songs like ‘Hawasangai Bagun Bhanchu’ and ‘Kehi Lyauna Sakina’, composed by Suvarna Limbu and Prakash Gurung, along with ‘Ma Ta Aksharko Manche Hun’, recently composed by Avash, will be presented on stage for the first time. These compositions will be brought to life by vocal artists Abhigya Ghimire and Rupak Chaudhary.

Lyricist Thapa, who was previously unable to participate due to health issues, expressed his joy and gratitude for being able to connect with Paleti in the later years of his life.

Avash, the coordinator of Paleti, also shared his happiness, stating that he has been a fan of Thapa’s lyrics since childhood and is delighted to revive a musical connection that spans three decades through this program.
