In the final match of Group ‘I’ in the World Cup, France’s star striker Ousmane Dembélé scored a hat-trick against Norway. He completed his hat-trick within 32 minutes, giving France a 3-1 lead by the end of the first half. Norway’s Thilo Asgard scored one goal in response.

This marks the third hat-trick of the ongoing World Cup. Previously, Argentina’s star Lionel Messi and Canada’s Jonathan David had achieved hat-tricks. Dembélé scored his goals in the 7th, 20th, and 32nd minutes to complete his hat-trick.

For Dembélé, this is his first hat-trick in a major international tournament. He is currently in incredible form, with his long and impressive strikes leaving Norway’s defense and goalkeeper with no chance.

By completing his hat-trick in the 32nd minute, Dembélé became the second fastest player to score a hat-trick in World Cup history. Previously, in 1954, Erich Probst set the record for the fastest hat-trick by scoring in the 24th minute for Austria against Czechoslovakia.

With this hat-trick, Dembélé has positioned himself as a contender for the tournament’s top scorer, with a total of 4 goals. He joins the list of players with 4 goals, including Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland, and Vinícius Júnior. Lionel Messi currently leads the tournament with 5 goals.
