Triveni (Nawalparasi) – The one-sided paving work on the eastern section of the Narayangadh-Butwal road expansion project at Daunne has been completed.

According to Shiv Khanal, the information officer for the project’s eastern section, the paving work at Daunne, which spans approximately four kilometers, has been finished on one side.

With the completion of the one-sided paving, transportation in the area will soon operate on a permanent road. Previously, the absence of paving at Daunne caused traffic jams even during light rain.

Khanal stated that after fourteen days, travel on the paved road in the eastern section of Daunne will be possible. “The one-sided paving work at Daunne is complete, and travel will soon be more convenient,” said Khanal.

With the completion of the one-sided paving at Daunne, the entire 65-kilometer eastern section of the Narayangadh-Butwal road project is now connected with asphalt and paved roads, according to Khanal.

“The one-sided paving work at Daunne is complete, and now the entire 65-kilometer stretch is linked with asphalt and permanent roads,” Khanal said. “After fourteen days, travel on asphalt and paved roads will be possible across all areas of the eastern section.”

While the eastern section at Daunne is connected with a permanent road, the paving work on the western section is not yet fully complete. The Narayangadh-Butwal road expansion work was contracted on 2075 Magh 24 and was to be completed by 2079 Shrawan 22 by China State Construction Corporation Pvt. Ltd.

The total 113 kilometers of the Narayangadh-Butwal road was divided into two sections for the project. As the work was not completed within the scheduled time, the deadline was extended multiple times. The project is currently progressing under the fourth extended deadline, and travel on this section has become more convenient as the project reaches its seventh year.
