Kathmandu – Prime Minister Balendra Shah has extended best wishes on the occasion of Mata Tirtha Aunsi (Mother’s Day), expressing reverence and respect to all mothers.

In a message shared on social media Friday morning, he stated that a mother and the motherland are greater even than heaven.

Quoting the famous Sanskrit verse  he described a mother’s embrace as a source of warmth and her feet as sacred like a pilgrimage.

In his message, Prime Minister Shah called mothers the source of creation and an unparalleled example of love and sacrifice, wishing all mothers a long life.

He portrayed mothers as a person’s first teacher and an eternal source of affection, expressing hope that children’s actions always make their mothers proud and keep smiles on their faces.

Linking devotion to one’s mother with love for the nation, he said:
“O Mother! I wish to see Mother Nepal smiling.”
