‘No alternative to republican system,’ Deuba

Chitwan, Nov 27: Sher Bahadur Deuba, President of Nepali Congress (NC) and former Prime Minister mentioned that there is no alternative to republican system of governance in the country.

Talking to media at Bharatpur Airport in Chitwan district today, Deuba said, “There is no point in opposing the republican system. It is not going to change.”

Asked if the political parties in the country were disturbed by ‘anti-republican activities’, Deuba said, “Not at all.”

On another query pertaining to the consensus on the power sharing in the current coalition turn-by-turn, he did not clearly respond. ‘You will know for yourself’, Deuba responded when asked how power sharing would be be exercised in the current coalition.
