NEPSE Sees a Rise of 11.58 Points in First Trading Day of the Week

This week’s first trading day has seen a double-digit improvement in the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index. Today, the NEPSE index rose by 11.58 points, settling at 2,588.35.

Today, shares from 325 companies were traded 72,957 times, amounting to a total transaction of NPR 5.09 billion, according to NEPSE.

The finance sector decreased by 0.31%, the hotel and tourism sector by 0.61%, the manufacturing and processing sector by 0.19%, the microfinance sector by 0.18%, and mutual funds by 0.10%. However, all other sectors saw an increase.

The banking sector had the highest increase, rising by 1.01%. Development banks rose by 0.66%, hydropower by 0.31%, investment by 0.62%, and life insurance by 0.24%. Similarly, the non-life insurance sector increased by 0.47%, trade by 0.07%, and other sectors by 0.41%.

Today, shares of Eastern Hydropower Limited, Atmanirbhar Microfinance Financial Institution Limited, and Upper Sanghi Hydropower Limited experienced a positive circuit. On the other hand, the share price of Raw Energy Development Limited saw the largest decrease, dropping by 8.65%.

In terms of transaction amount, the most traded company today was CDBI Hydropower Development Limited, with shares worth NPR 278.027 million being bought and sold. In terms of the number of shares traded, NMBS Subhalabh Investment Fund-2 had 647,203 shares changing hands.
