Nepal welcomed over 55,000 foreign tourists via air route in January

In the first month of the year 2023, a total of 55, 074 foreign tourists came to Nepal via air route, as shown by the data of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).

The significant number of tourists arriving even in off-season is a positive beginning, said Maniraj Lamichhane, NTB Director.

Among the total tourists, 16,436 from India – 6,561 from USA- 3,441 from Australia and 2,468 from Bangladesh landed in January in Nepal.

This number of tourists is the highest since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. The 16,436 tourists had visited Nepal in January, 2022 and 8,674 in January, 2021.
