Nepal to receive 1.5 million doses of Pfizer from GAVI

The Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunization (GAVI) has confirmed providing 1.5 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines to Nepal.

In response to a letter written by Nepal to the GAVI in December 29 asking for the supplies of vaccines to administer booster doses, GAVI has confirmed supply of such quantity vaccines on February 2, according to Sagar Dahal, Division Chief, Family Welfare Division, Department of Health Services.

The vaccines being supplied from the United States of America Under the COVAX facility will be arriving in the first week of February.

In the midst of increasing risk of Covid-19 infection, Nepal decided to request the GAVI for fresh supplies of vaccines.
