Kathmandu – In the 2024-26 series of the World Cup League 2, Nepal is playing its final home game today.

Despite finding good form in the last two home series, Nepal’s path to the ODI World Cup qualification remains challenging due to poor performances in earlier series.

Nepal will face America, the top team in the standings, at the Tribhuvan International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur at 9:30 AM. In this series, Nepal has defeated both America and Scotland in one match each. Nepal aims for a second consecutive victory against America.

In this edition of World Cup League 2, Nepal has won 6 out of 11 home games. Most recently, Nepal defeated America on home soil, marking the first victory against America since the 2023 World Cup qualifiers.

In the eight-nation League 2, each team plays a total of 36 matches, with 12 on home ground, 12 on neutral ground, and 12 away. In the previous edition, Nepal delivered a sensational performance by winning 10 out of 12 home games.

Nepal will attempt to improve its standings by defeating America, which currently holds the top position. America, on the other hand, aims to conclude its Nepal visit with a victory. America has 38 points from 27 matches, and Scotland also has 38 points from 32 matches, but America leads due to a better net run rate.

Oman has 31 points from 28 matches, the Netherlands has 28 points from 24 matches, and Nepal has 22 points from 27 matches. Similarly, Namibia, with 22 points from 28 matches, Canada with 21 points from 24 matches, and the UAE with 14 points from 24 matches, are also in the standings.
