Nepal defeats USA by 122 runs in ICC Cricket World Cup League 2

Kathmandu – In the final match of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 series involving Nepal, the USA, and Scotland, Nepal defeated the USA by a wide margin of 122 runs.

After losing the toss, Nepal batted first and scored 317 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Chasing a target of 318 runs, the USA was all out for 195 runs in 41.2 overs.

For the USA, Saurabh Netravalkar scored 56, Nosthush Kenjige 29, Shayan Jahangir 27, Shehan Jayasuriya 26, Saiteja Mukkamalla 22, Milind Kumar 12, and Saurabh Netravalkar 10 runs.

In bowling, Nepal’s Sandeep Lamichhane took 3 wickets, while Dipendra Singh Airee, Lalit Rajbanshi, and Gulshan Jha took 2 wickets each, and Sompal Kami took one wicket.

For Nepal, Ishan Pandey and Dipendra Singh Airee played impressive half-century innings. Ishan scored 84 runs off 83 balls with the help of 8 fours and 1 six. He shared a century partnership of 110 runs for the third wicket with captain Rohit Paudel. Pandey hit 8 fours and 1 six in his innings.

Similarly, Paudel was dismissed for 46 runs, hitting 2 fours and 1 six. Openers Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh shared a 69-run partnership for the first wicket. Bhurtel was out for 29 runs off 39 balls, hitting 5 fours, while Aasif Sheikh scored 43 runs off 57 balls with 6 fours.

For Nepal, Dipendra Singh Airee played another explosive half-century innings. Airee scored 59 runs off 36 balls, hitting 4 fours and 4 sixes, before being run out. Besides him, Gulshan Jha scored 15 runs, and Arif Sheikh remained unbeaten on 18 runs.
