Nepal defeats Oman by 81 runs in ICC World Cup League 2

Kathmandu – In the ICC World Cup League 2 cricket match, Nepal defeated Oman by a wide margin of 81 runs.

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Nepal set a target of 257 runs. Oman was all out for 175 runs in 39.5 overs while chasing this target.

In the process of cheaply dismissing Oman, Nepal’s all-rounder Gulshan Jha took five wickets single-handedly. Besides him, Karan KC, Dipendra Singh Airee, Nandan Yadav, and Sandeep Lamichhane each took one wicket.

For Oman, Vinayak Shukla scored the highest with 36 runs. Apart from him, Hamad Mirza made 34 runs, and Hasnain Ul Wahab scored 29 runs.

Earlier, after winning the toss and choosing to bat, Nepal was all out for 256 runs with one ball remaining. In Nepal’s competitive score, Asif Sheikh made 94 runs, while Arjun Kumal scored 48 runs. These two shared a 123-run partnership for the second wicket.

In addition, Dipendra Singh Airee scored 33 runs, and Arif Sheikh played an innings of 43 runs off 24 balls. Other players could not reach double figures.

For Oman, Nadim Khan took three wickets, while Sakil Ahmed and Hasnain Sah took two wickets each. Similarly, Jiten Ramanandi and Aryan Viss took one wicket each.

With this victory, Nepal has 18 points from 24 matches. Oman is in third place with 31 points from 28 matches. Nepal will compete against America and Scotland, who are at the top of the table, next week.
