Newly appointed Inspector General of the Armed Police Force, Narayan Dutta Poudel, has been decorated with the insignia of his rank.

In a special ceremony held at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Home Secretary Rajkumar Shrestha presented the insignia to IGP Poudel.

The Cabinet meeting held last Monday decided to promote Additional Inspector General (AIG) Poudel to the top position of Inspector General in the organization.

Following the government’s decision, he has been entrusted with the leadership of the Armed Police Force.

The position had been vacant since the former Inspector General, Raju Aryal, was mandatorily retired on 18 Baisakh due to the age limit.

After Aryal’s departure, Poudel, who was next in line for leadership, will now take command of the Armed Police Force.
